Seasons

by Blexbolex

I hope someone at Camp read-a-lot can tell me why I should like this book.  This book is a picture book with one word at the top of each picture.  It is a thick book.  There are lots of pictures and words.  It would be nice for someone who is new to Minnesota and is learning the English word for things.  Otherwise, I don't really get it.  But that's ok.  I don't need to understand every book I read right away.  Sometimes, I need to talk to other people and get their ideas in order to really see the hidden meaning in it.  This is why book clubs are so popular.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Cabin Fever

by Jeff Kinney I was so lucky to get the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book in right before Thanksgiving and it wasn't quite ready for the shelf so I brought it home to read it.  It was a great day to start my Thanksgiving.  It's another fun story about Greg Hefley and his diary of some time in the winter.  My favorite part was when he used mascara to paint a 6-pack on his tummy to look like he did lots of sit-ups.  What was your favorite part?

Review: Part of Your World

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez My rating: 5 of 5 stars Well this was just fun. So fun. I laughed. I cried. I wanted everything to work out. Having grown up in a town that straddled not the city, but not far from the city. And having been guests in similar resort MN towns all my life, I can see this. All of this. And it was just a delightful escape from own life. And I LOVE the tie in fun the former series!! Whoo! View all my reviews

The Lightning Thief

by Rick Riordan The first in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is pretty good. It mixes a current story with ancient greek mythology. I was never a fan of mythology, but this story kept me reading until the end. I enjoyed the twists and turns and would recommend it to any age 3rd grade and up!
