Review: Cat Secrets

Cat Secrets
Cat Secrets by Jef Czekaj

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Adorable. I cannot wait to read this to kindergarten at the beginning of the year next year. I have to remember to either buy it or check it out from the public library so we have it at the beginning of the year. I would love to see the kindergartners do all of the actions that these cats ask the reader to do as we go along.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Cabin Fever

by Jeff Kinney I was so lucky to get the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book in right before Thanksgiving and it wasn't quite ready for the shelf so I brought it home to read it.  It was a great day to start my Thanksgiving.  It's another fun story about Greg Hefley and his diary of some time in the winter.  My favorite part was when he used mascara to paint a 6-pack on his tummy to look like he did lots of sit-ups.  What was your favorite part?

Review: Part of Your World

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez My rating: 5 of 5 stars Well this was just fun. So fun. I laughed. I cried. I wanted everything to work out. Having grown up in a town that straddled not the city, but not far from the city. And having been guests in similar resort MN towns all my life, I can see this. All of this. And it was just a delightful escape from own life. And I LOVE the tie in fun the former series!! Whoo! View all my reviews

The Lightning Thief

by Rick Riordan The first in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is pretty good. It mixes a current story with ancient greek mythology. I was never a fan of mythology, but this story kept me reading until the end. I enjoyed the twists and turns and would recommend it to any age 3rd grade and up!
